I help women create confidence through intuitive living and wellness.
Your morning productivity will dictate how the rest of your day will look. Waking up on the wrong side of the day is never fun but how you spend the moments after that can completely change how you feel.
Don’t even try it. Why would you want to start your day by looking at pictures of other people’s lives? You will either end up judging or envying, neither of which are positive thoughts.
INSTEAD: Take that time to meditate. Instead of spending 10 minutes scrolling through Facebook and Instagram, spend that time meditating on all the good things life has to offer.
Coffee gets us all going, I know, I need it too. But putting coffee into an empty stomach will make you feel jittery and dehydrated.
INSTEAD: Enjoy a nice cup of coffee AFTER you drank at least 8 oz of water. You will be amazed by how energized and full you will feel. This will also make your body crave more water throughout the day. Hydration is key to a productive day!
Hitting snooze will give you a reason to not get up. This means you are going to be rushing, making the morning feel short and stressful.
INSTEAD: If you know it takes you a while to wake up, set your alarm a little bit earlier to allow for grogginess. Prevent the stressful moments by getting up and being productive. This will make you more productive throughout the day as well.
It’s in the past, let it go. There is no reason to think about all the stuff you did or didn’t do the day before. It won’t help you because we are living it the present.
INSTEAD: Look at today. Take time the night before to write down what you didn’t get done so you can focus on it today. It’s now a part of today’s plan instead of yesterdays. Look ahead and how you can make today the best day yet.
Yeah, trying to find the perfect outfit is hard but, it’s even more difficult coming home to a messy room or house. Piles of blankets and pillows look fun, but we aren’t kids anymore. We are past the play fort age, unfortunately.
INSTEAD: Make your bed before leaving the house and hang up all of your clothes. It will make coming home later a peaceful and relaxing experience.
Turning on every possible light in the house isn’t going to help your eyes adjust. It also isn’t going to tell your body to wake up, hello! It’s the day-time!
INSTEAD: Open the blinds or even a window. Let the natural light and air in.
Breakfast is supposedly the most important meal of the day, right? How about we try to not cram sugar into our mouths first thing in the morning! This is going to lag your digestive system, making you feel bloated and lack energy all day long.
INSTEAD: Try a protein-packed breakfast balanced with some fruit. This will help you feel full for a longer amount of time, preventing you from snacking all day.
