I help women create confidence through intuitive living and wellness.
The sunflower is a bright and cheery flower, much like what it feels like when choosing a life of wellness. The sweet resemblance of the sun with gleaming yellow “rays” that are uplifting and easy to bring positivity, life, and energy. Through their vibrant color to their unrestrained shape, sunflowers are sure to bring a smile, rain, or shine. Sunflowers have deep-rooted meaning and symbolism that remind me of the true meaning of wellness.
I chose the sunflower to be the symbol of my business because of its meaning and beauty. Never mind the beauty that they continuously offer, sunflowers stand for longevity, adoration, loyalty, and optimism, all crucial components that makeup what wellness is.
The sunflower represents longevity because of the conditions it can endure while continuing to stand tall and shine its light. Sunflowers are in full bloom during the hot summer months and don’t allow the heat to wilt or destroy them. They weather each storm displaying their strength and vigor. The goal of wellness is to improve quality of life, leading to an increase in functionality and longevity. This symbolic representation of the sunflower holds so much meaning in wellness because regardless of the seasons when you live a life full of wellness, you can easily find light, positivity, and longevity.
Adoration and loyalty are two important terms in wellness in reference to self. When you seek self-love (adoration), you find confidence, courage, and compassion. When staying true to yourself (loyalty) you create a habit, which is the foundation of wellness. The thick stem of the sunflower represents loyalty through the strong bond it creates between the Earth and the flower itself. Creating a strong bond between self and life is the epitome of well-being.
Sunflowers aren’t the rarest flower. They aren’t hard to find nor a challenge to grow. Regardless of how “common” the sunflower maybe, its beauty remains unique and powerful. In a variety of shapes, sizes, and colors, sunflowers remain beautiful and symbolic when seen. Much like wellness, which isn’t rare or a challenge to form. It simply takes commitment, nourishment, patience, and positivity for the blooming to begin. It can occur in any person with some loving kindness.
These flowers continue to give back. Even after it dies, it provides an abundance of seeds to be eaten and/or replanted. When wellness is implemented into your life, and I mean fully implemented as an integrated part to who you are, your wellness begins to give back. Your wellness creates optimal health, allowing you to partake more in actively living rather than having life passively pass you by. You become a light for others and create a lifelong foundation to live well, feel well, and be well.
